Buying and moving into a new home can be an exciting but also stressful time, particularly when it comes to designing and deciding what to plant in the garden.
To remove some of the stress, the team at Love Plants, a specialist plants centre based at Emstrey, Shrewsbury, is offering advice to new home owners on how to plan their garden based on personal requirements and budget.
Tips on design, which plants are best suited to individual gardens and where to plant them are available from manager Tim Robinson and his team at Love Plants. Whether it’s a low or high maintenance garden, the team can help.
To get gardening advice, new home owners are asked to take photos of their gardens to show Love Plants staff who will then offer tips about design and planting in the layout available.
Tom is a hugely experienced gardener who, over a number of years, has transformed a large field into a beautiful, walk through, half an acre garden at Kynaston, near Kinnerley, Oswestry, which is often open to the public as part of the National Garden Scheme (NGS).
Between July 21-23 this year, he raised £3,000 for the NGS’s charities by opening his garden.
Love Plants’ manager Tim Robinson said: “There are a lot of new homes being built in and around Shrewsbury and most owners start with a blank canvas when it comes to their garden.
“The workshops are an opportunity to get expert advice on all types of layouts, from patios to low and high maintenance gardens, depending on their location, aspect and soil quality.
“A lot of new homes have very poor soil in their garden and we can advise on how to improve it so that plants can grow and get the best start.”
Customers who make a purchase at Love Plants or register as a friend during August and September will have a chance of winning a fantastic prize worth £1,000 to carry out a garden makeover.
The exciting prize celebrates the launch of Love Plants’ brand new website –
https://www.love-plants.co.uk/ – which is packed with useful information about plants, tools and accessories, gardening tips and ‘Things to do’ in your garden every month of the year.
New customers can register as a Friend of Love Plants, which celebrates its 10th birthday next spring, via the website. The draw winner will be announced in October, in time to give their garden a makeover before winter sets in.
